Iraqi fedayeen "darth vader" helmet
Arguably the most unusual Iraqi helmet ever made. The black Fedayeen helmet was worn by Saddam's personal militia, the Fedayeen, which was established in 1995. The odd helmet style mimics Darth Vader's helmet from Star Wars because Saddam's son Uday was a huge Star Wars fan.
The Fedayeen helmet is made of a sort of white fiberglass material which was then painted black. The webbing in these helmets are originally a M80/03 liner dyed black, but were sometimes replaced with a regular M80/03 liner when the black ones wore out. It is also removable. On the side of the helmet is a removable Fedayeen insignia badge. These Fedayeen helmets have been faked in the past, so I will not encourage future fakers by pointing out what is wrong with the reproduction ones.
