IRaqi Marpat camo copy
Iraqi soldiers along with Kurdish Peshmerga have been observed wearing a copy of the USMC MARPAT camouflage pattern sometime around 2010. They are noted to have been sold to soldiers in Kurdistan and have the yellow Chinese import tag. They are obvious copies, and versions even have the USMC logo in the camouflage pattern, which was later changed to an outline of Iraq with the words "Great Iraq" under it.
The construction of the uniform is solid and the style mimics the ACU, with slanted pockets and a zipper closure. The Iraqis added their own touch to it, with epaulets for shoulder boards.
This uniform here is one of those examples, with a circa 2006 Special Forces velcro patch. It is an earlier version, evident by the marine corps insignia on it instead of the phrase "Great Iraq". The color of the background color is a light tan and not white looking like the photo suggests. Although odd, a common occurrence is the trousers label was mistakenly put as the jacket label. It's been observed on many of these Chinese imported uniforms for some reason.
