Iraqi used PASGT kevlar helmet
After OIF, the Iraqi army began to be rebuilt and trained by coalition forces, one being the United States. The U.S. supplied many of their old PASGT kevlar helmets to the new Iraqi army soldiers.
This helmet was taken (or traded) as a souvenir from an Iraqi soldier in 2005 by an American MP gunner. That Iraqi soldier was very likely a former member of the newly formed and recently disbanded Iraqi Civil Defense Corps at that time, evident by the Iraqi made helmet cover, constructed of fabric from a 6 color chocolate chip copy seen with early ICDC units. The 6 color uniforms they first used had green incorporated into the design. The Iraqis were commonly seen wearing chocolate chip helmet covers and uniforms during this time period and still use them today, but ones with the green color are not often seen past 2007. At the end of the page are photos showing similar helmets in use.
