Iraqi national (Federal) Police us made blue digital camo uniform
The Iraqi National Police, also known as the Iraqi Federal Police was rebuilt and retrained in 2006 after being accused of abuse and illegal activities after the fall of Saddam. The federal police is different from the regular Iraqi Police since they are trained primarily for military operations. Because of their training, they were deployed to fight ISIS on numerous occasions, one during the Battle of Mosul (2016-2017).
Around the year 2006, they began to be issued special blue digital camo uniforms. The majority of them were contracted by the United States specifically for the Iraqi police for their re-equiptment. Propper International is also a well known maker of these. Each example, although some bear the same tag seen on US military clothing, can be distinguished as Iraqi. Firstly, the Iraq flag was incorporated by being printed into the digital camo design. Secondly, the size tag doesn’t show the measurements of the waist, inseam, etc and just says the size. For examples made by Najaf Garment Factory, the tag of that company is present. Earlier used police uniforms have patches sewn to the sleeves or chest, where later uniforms usually have velcro.
This uniform below was taken in 2007 from Al-Muqdadiyah in the Diyala Provence of Iraq. It is one of the original uniforms made for the Iraqi Police by the US, evident by the tag. The uniform has original patches for the Iraqi National Police Command, also known as the Iraqi Federal Police Command. It is named to a Latif Aamer near the collar. What I like about this uniform is that it is well used and not mint, unlike many Iraqi uniforms you encounter. In my experience, honest used uniforms are rarer than the mint ones in some cases.
