saddam era dress style tan uniforms
Although they are not primarily worn for dress occasions, I have categorized the Iraqi uniforms shown below as "dress style" to separate them from their counterparts that have a different design. It is a fact that these were worn by Iraqi army enlisted personnel along with officers, although they appear to have been worn by officers more often. By 2003, the green style of this uniform was worn more often than the tan one.
The uniforms shown here all have 2 pleated pockets and small exposed buttons. It is easy to see the style of these uniforms and why they are different than the tan ones explained in other reference pages on this site

OIF ONLY (1991-2003)
IRAN-IRAQ WAR:Unknown
DESERT STORM: YES
OIF: YES
This variant of the Iraqi tan uniform is made of a coarse fabric with pointed pockets. The buttons are very cheaply made. It is slightly thicker in construction than other tan uniforms, for example, the pocket flaps are thicker. The label on the collar features the Jihm mark which designates it as Desert Storm Era. The later Ba'ath Party stamp, however, shows this uniform was reissued in OIF. It was likely new-old-stock which explains why it was reissued. Tan uniforms frequently have that stamp on them. This type of uniform was also seen worn by the early Iraqi Civil Defense Corps when they were initially formed.
