Iraqi m80 helmet maker marks
While observing the Iraqi M80 helmets, it was brought to attention that a factory stamp was placed in the dome of the helmet. After looking at many of these stamps, certain styles have been observed that likely correspond to a manufacturer. These are the categories of the M80 dome stamp that have been found.
All stamps here are pictured how they appear when the front of the helmet is facing the viewer.

The "S" stamp
This is what will be referred to as the "S" stamp for easier reference. It consists of the letter "S" followed by some numbers. This stamp style comes up often on Iraqi M80s so we assume it is for a certain manufacturer.
The "O" stamp
This is a very interesting maker mark present in some Iraqi M80s. The O is likely a manufacturer's symbol, but which company it stands for is unknown. The mark consists of the symbol along with a backwards number underneath. The M80's that have this present on them have tan fabric chinstraps and the length of the helmet is 11.25 inches. This is significant because M80 chinstraps are usually grey fabric and the shell is 0.25 inches longer than regular M80's.
